Our "Honoring Our Veterans" initiative surveys cemeteries in Huron County to locate military veterans' graves, and see that they are properly marked, cleaned and decorated. We work with local vets to identify veterans' graves that do not have a proper marker.

The bronze Persian Gulf War flag holder marker shown  here found in the Wakeman Township Cemetery could not be matched with a grave. The July 2, 2025, edition of the Norwalk Reflector ran a story about this "Veteran marker mystery.
